The PDF or ZIP didn't download
Updated
When you click Generate Receipt, the PDF is built and your browser downloads it. You should see Receipt Generated! and your browser's download notice. Bulk gives you a ZIP file instead, and a correction gives you a PDF.
The page says it worked, but I can't find the file
- Open your browser's downloads list. Most browsers show it from the toolbar or the browser menu.
- Look in your Downloads folder. Single receipts are named like
receipt-12-3456789-followed by a number. Corrections start withcorrected_receipt_. Bulk ZIP files start withbulk_receipts_. - Check whether you changed your browser's download folder.
Nothing downloaded
- Your browser blocked it. Look for a blocked-download icon in the address bar and choose to allow downloads from this site, then generate again.
- An extension is in the way. Turn off ad blockers or download managers for this site, or try a private window or another browser.
- The page is still working. Wait until the button stops showing that it is generating. Bulk can take a while for a long list.
- You saw an error instead. See Form errors.
If a receipt was made, you have a copy by email too. A copy of every receipt goes to the Organization Email you entered. Check your spam folder if you don't see it.
The file won't open
- A receipt is an ordinary PDF. Open it with your browser, a PDF reader or your phone's file viewer.
- A ZIP file has to be unzipped first. Double-click it on a computer. On a phone or tablet, tap it in your Files app or downloads list to open it, or open it on a computer.
On a phone or tablet
The download goes to your browser's downloads list or your device's Files app. Tap the download notice, or open the Files app and look under Downloads.
I lost the file
FreeCharityReceipts doesn't keep a copy of single receipts or pasted Bulk, so it can't give you the PDF again. Check your Organization Email for the copy first. If you can't find it, you can issue a replacement. See Correct a receipt.
Bulk Upload a file is different. Your ZIP files stay available for 30 days under Recent uploads. Open the run and download again. If you follow a link from an email and see that the upload could not be found, you may be signed in with a different account. See Sign-in problems.
